12 reasons why we are happy in 2014!

This is not one of those existential Thought Catalog kind of post. Its just a quick 12 points summary of why we were happily grinning like monkeys on 17 April 2014.

Reason 1 – Ideafarms came into being in 2002.

Reason 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 … we continued rocking and doing kickass work.

Reason 12 – WE TURNED 12 THIS year!! And yes just like any discerning on-the-brink teenager, we enter our adolescent years kicking, screaming and very unaware of what the future has in store for us (well not quite. We’re smarter than that 😉 ). If the year so far is anything to go by, we are already on our way to having a lot of fun. This year we got the opportunity to make our very first game on Android, in affiliation with a upcoming movie called Yeh Hai Bakrapur. The game is called “Kaun Banega PM?” and you can read about it here. More on that in another post and lets bring back the focus to more mundane things like a party etc. :-D. Have a look at how we had a small celebration at work to usher in the big Thirteen in Fourteen.

Ideafarms turns 10 ! A decade of Innovation and Design

17th April- A day that is very important to us, as this day Ideafarms was born, and now its been a decade. An important milestone has been achieved successfully.

Our celebrations began way back when we crafted our new year’s greeting card relating with all the moments that we had in our journey (our clients, our parties, our people). Take a look .. Just a click away .

We also revamped our website and launched it on our anniversary. You can check it out here. Any kind of criticism and ‘Aww! thats nice‘ will be wholeheartedly accepted 😀

Our day was special as we had a ceremony at our work-place followed by a small party. The day began with work assigned to everybody – ‘Filling up balloons ‘. Everybody was enjoying that for once they had something new to do at the work place. In no time we had decorated our place with balloons.

 

You could feel the excitement in the air, the whole office was decorated to reflect the mood that a festival brings every year, which put a big smile on everybody’s faces.

 

Our CEO Mr. Sunil Malhotra and CFO Mr. Rajeev Malhotra were given a warm welcome, followed by a religious ceremony.

 

The pooja ceremony was done to seek the blessings of the almighty and bless our souls.

 

Rangoli in office has always been a part of our celebrations – the Indian way. Ruchi put in her creative hand and made a fantastic one.

 

After the ceremony, we had another ceremony, the cake eating ceremony 😀 . The cake was tempting and yummy-licious so it was hard to get our hands off it.

 

But the party ain’t stoppin as we had a grand celebration at Chonas, Khan Market. The food was superb and we all loved it.

 


Sarvesh captured  our 10-year journey into this beautiful poem as we turn 10, and create a landmark in the history.

United Colors of Ideafarms

No don’t adjust the color settings of your monitor…

 

We usually look quite normal. Look we even took a picture to document as proof.

 

The festival of colors is celebrated with much gusto around the world by all Indians, and we Ideafarmers are definitely not the ones to be left behind. We look forward to it each year. Afterall, what better occasion than this to leave your co-workers looking black and blue 😉

 

Infact, such was the eagerness that for a change, the scrumptious spread laid next to the pile of gulaal (powdered color) was ignored and we decided to attack each other first.

 

It’s a little difficult to describe what happened next because there was just a cloud of colors flying around. When the haze settled, the result was the very colorful bunch of human beings you see in the following pictures. (No, none of these pictures have been photoshopped.)

 

While some gave in easily,…

 

… some tried to threaten with a dirty look …

 

… and yet some tried to hide behind each other …

 

None of which worked of course :D.

 

… and we all came out of it grinning …

 

… well almost all of us 😉 [Camera shy?]

Amidst all the chaos and strangely scary looking people we all had a lot of fun throwing color at each other and messing up the whole office. It was a grand celebration!

 

 

 

And now that the color of our faces matches the color of our walls, we wish a very Happy Holi to all.

Tennis on Table

“A healthy mind lives in healthy body.”

We too believe in that and that’s the reason why Ideafarms organized a table tennis match at Siri Fort complex for its employees …

apart from the most obvious reason of having fun and yes we had loads of fun.

Every one was supposed to be in sports wear but… well every theory has some exceptions ;-) .

 

Even before the event started everyone was in the mood, everyone warming up and thinking like they are themselves Wang Hao …

 

We were pretty excited about it as such events give us a break from our daily routine and also a chance to interact with our colleagues outside the office.

 

All the fixtures were already decided and its was a knock out competition … with men and women competing separately.

During the starting rounds you could clearly tell who would win and also sometimes by how many points ;  even though it was table tennis most of us treated it as lawn tennis and the ball seldom touched the table :P .

 

As the competition progressed the matches started getting more intense and got us all excited …

 

and as for those who lost in the early rounds … they started their own league championship .

When we were down to our final rounds, that’s when the competition in its real sense became entertaining.

 

Tip : don’t play after eating or you might feel sleepy.

Women’s Table Tennis Fixture :

1st prize : Mita Majumdar

2nd prize : Manpreet Rai

Unfortunately  the men’s table tennis event never came to a conclusion due to a muscle pull with one of the finalist(Sunil Malhotra) but since it was finals we decided that they deserve their prize.

All said and done one important lesson that we learned is to work out on daily basis or events like this can leave your body aching.
